LS9 with the propeller folded out

The Rolladen Schneider LS9 is a single-seat, self-launching glider from the German manufacturer Rolladen Schneider . It has a fold-out propeller. The engine is water-cooled and built into the fuselage (Walter Binder system). The flight performance in glider flight corresponds to the LS6c / 18 with a wing loading of about 38-40 kg / m².

Rolladen Schneider placed particular emphasis on making the complex system of glider and engine as simple as possible. This minimized the pilot's workload. The LS9 has an electro-pneumatic stall warning as standard , as well as a tail wheel integrated into the fin . Ten copies of the LS9 were built.
