Rolls Royce Darts
The Rolls-Royce Dart (also Rolls-Royce RB.53 ) is a propeller turbine air jet engine (PTL) made by the British manufacturer Rolls-Royce .
Development began in 1946 based on experience with the Rolls-Royce Trent RB.50 PTL engine from 1945. The first prototype of the turbine was first tested in flight in 1947 in an Avro Lancaster . Production began in 1952 and ended in 1986. In total, over 7,000 units were produced. The output was initially around 1120 kW, but could be increased significantly in the course of development.
