Rollygeddon is a 31-minute amateur animated film directed by Thomas Zeug.

action

A huge asteroid is heading straight for Earth and threatens to destroy humanity. By an unfortunate coincidence, Rolly is the one that NASA is now armed with a spaceship and an explosive device to fly to the boulder from space, blow it up and thus save humanity. Unfortunately, something goes horribly wrong during his mission and Rolly makes a fatal mistake.

Production and publication

The film was made by Thomas Zeug at home on his computer within just under two years. The project was originally planned as a 5-minute clip as it is a remake of an older short film by Thomas Zeug. In one scene there is a brawl with an animated version of Bud Spencer . This was re-animated frame by frame from a part of the film Two Like Pitch and Sulfur . The main character Rolly was voiced by Thomas Zeug himself.

After the premiere on August 10, 2007 in Regina Cinema in Regina , Rollygeddon was also published on the Internet eight days later and has since been available for free download . Furthermore, Thomas Zeug also sells the film on DVD, on which there are additional extras (e.g. audio commentary, gag dictionary, cut scenes, ...). More than two thirds of the production costs could be refinanced through voluntary donations .

The film has already screened at several festivals and has already won several prizes, including the € 10,000 Rookie Award from TV-Spielfilm, which was presented at the 2008 Jupiter Awards ceremony in Berlin. The film was also broadcast several times in the on3-südwild program on Bavarian television and on the training and further education channel.
