action

Ben stands at the window of a car dealership and admired the grand prize of the upcoming Rally Cross -Rennens (a red beach buggy brand Puma with yellow top ), in which he participates. Suddenly his old rival Kid pulls up in his bus that has been converted into a motorhome and puts a temporary damper on Ben's dream of victory, because he too drives around the buggy. In the race, both fight bitterly with a Ford Escort for victory and force all competitors who are in their way to surrender through several clashes. But in the end they cross the finish line exactly at the same time and have to share their profit.

The buggy is transported by truck to Ben's small garage, which he runs together with his old friend Jeremias. Ben and Kid decide in neighboring amusement park by eating contest with beer and sausages fight out the sole owner of the buggy. But then the thugs of a gang boss, called The Boss, get in their way. He has the restaurant of the amusement park devastated in order to force its closure and demolition and to have a high-rise built at this point. Ben and Kid calmly continue their eating contest until it becomes too uncomfortable for them (quote Ben: "I think we should go, it's too loud for me here, I can't chew properly.") And they make the decision move to another restaurant. When they want to leave the parking lot in front of the amusement park, the buggy is rammed by a cart of the thugs and goes up in flames. Since they see themselves disturbed in their competition for the buggy, Ben and Kid want to get the buggy replaced by the crook boss, who is "advised" by a psychologist called The Doctor . They mingle with the guests at the boss's party and finally confront him.

After massive influence from the doctor, the boss is unwilling to replace the buggy. He sends the leader of his thugs, the sinister Attila, to stop Ben and Kid. When the two drive past a small gas station in Ben's rallycross car, Attila sets the car on fire and thinks he has taken them down. But the car's fire can be put out quickly in a car wash. On the same evening, Attila wants to have fun in the amusement park with two women from his gang. But Ben and Kid quickly turn him from hunter to hunted and, after a fight in a sports hall, remind him that they want to have the buggy replaced the next lunchtime.

The boss sends his men to Ben's workshop without a replacement buggy to carry out the supposed delivery. Ben and Kid seem to initially accept the "gift" by responding to the crooks' gimmick and thanking them. But the meeting quickly turns into a motorcycle chase in which Ben and Kid overpower all thugs and finally defeat the two remaining ones in a kind of "motorized joust ". But the boss and the doctor still don't give up.

On the advice of the doctor, the boss sets the hit man Paganini on Ben and Kid in order to finally silence them. First he follows Kid into a concert hall, where the fire brigade choir, of which Ben is a member, is rehearsing. Kid mingles with the singers and warns Ben that Paganini has followed them. Ben skillfully escapes from his line of fire several times. Finally, on the roof structure of the stage, there is an opportunity for Paganini. But when he opens his rifle case, there is suddenly a violin in it , and the next moment Kid Paganini's own rifle is aimed at him and forces him to perform as a violinist in the boss's restaurant.

Finally, the boss also sets his thugs at Ben's friend Jeremias, who turns out to be the gang's former chef. One night Ben finds Jeremias bloodied under a car in their workshop, which finally brings the barrel to overflow for him. Together with Kid, he ravages the gang boss's restaurant in his rallycross car and there is a final fight. The boss gives up and the next day drives his gang, which is clearly marked by the fight, to Ben's workshop and donates a new buggy each to Ben and Kid. As the two of them drive wildly across the parking lot of the amusement park with their buggies, Kid is distracted by his friend, the tightrope walker Liza . He looks after her as if spellbound, does not pay attention to his path and collides with Ben's buggy. This goes up in flames as a result of the collision, and the duo's competition with beer and sausages for the remaining buggy begins again.
