Patty Shepard

Patty Shepard (born October 1, 1945 in Greenville , South Carolina , † January 3, 2013 in Madrid ) was an American actress .

Life

Shepard was born as Patricia Moran Shepard. Her father was an officer in the US Air Force . In 1963 she came to Spain , where her father was stationed at the US military base in Torrejón de Ardoz . Shepard moved to Madrid, where she originally wanted to study philosophy . However, she then worked as a model and appeared in commercials on Spanish television, including for a Spanish brandy brand.

In 1966 she made her film debut alongside Paco Martinez Soria in the Spanish comedy La ciudad no es para mí ; however, she was not mentioned in the credits. During her career, Shepard has appeared in around 50 Spanish and Italian films. Shepard has appeared in films in a wide variety of genres. However, she mainly played in spaghetti westerns , horror films and Spanish-Italian Gialli .

Shepard starred in the Euro-Western It's About Your Head, Amigo (1966; as a saloon girl, alongside Anthony Steffen ), Your Life is Not Worth a Dollar (1970; as Deborah Kellaway, daughter of a southern officer in the Civil War , alongside Dean Reed ), El más fabuloso golpe del Far West (1971, as Lupe), in the spaghetti western comedy Petroleummiezen (1971, as Little Rain), The Man from El Paso (1973, as Peg Cullane) and, alongside Lee Van Cleef and Lo Lieh , in In my anger, I weigh four hundredweight (1974, as a Russian mistress).

She was also in the horror films Dracula chasing Frankenstein (1970, as Ilse) and Night of the Vampires (1970) to see; in the latter film she played the medieval witch and sorceress Countess Wandesa Dárvula de Nadasdy. She played the teacher Paola Rossi in the thriller Mio caro assassino (1972). In the title sequence of the Giallo Das Mädchen aus der Via Condotti , she plays the wife of a private detective who is strangled by her lover while having sex until she is dead. In the action comedy Zwei wie Pech und Schwefel (1974) she starred alongside Terence Hill and Bud Spencer as the tightrope walker Lisa.

Shepard later worked occasionally for television . At the end of the 1980s she retired from film work.

In 1967 she married the Spanish actor Manuel De Blas , who was her partner in some films; she met de Blas while filming the feature film Cita en Navarra (1967). Shepard died of a heart attack at her Madrid home at the age of 67 .

Her younger sister Judith Chapman (nee Judith Shepard) is also an actress.
