Adventurers Davy and Tim save a man from the pursuit of bandits. Half a treasure map is tattooed on Fidel's back; only after some persuasion does Fidel reveal that the second half is with a former friend of Fidel's, who is now sheriff. Together they go in search of him, accompanied by the cunning professional player Tricky, who imposes himself on them. When they meet the sheriff, Sam, he is soon dead; However, Tricky was able to memorize the tattooed treasure map. The tensions among the four who also have to deal with the attacks of a bandit horde are becoming increasingly clear. They free the girl Manuela from their hands, with whom Manuela falls in love. Fidel and Tim die in skirmishes, then Davy settles accounts with Tricky, who hired five killers to secure the treasure. Then Davy leaves the booty to the villagers and moves away with Manuela.
