action

Shortly after the Civil War, the ex-Confederate Alex Kellaway is tricked by the brothers Clegg and Elliott into robbing a gold transport destined for the north. After the success of the coup, Alex quickly realized that he had nothing to do with the civil war and that his good faith was being exploited. He can fight off Elliotts, but Clegg ties him to the ambushed car; later Alex can break free. On the way to his ranch through the desert, he takes a child with him whose parents were killed. The half-breed Saranda (German version Mestizo) grows up with Kellaway's daughter Deborah, with whom he also falls in love. When the various kinds of differences grow too great, Saranda flees Alex's ranch - before he is treated worse by him.

Saranda then saves Deborah from being raped by Cedric, the senator's son, and beats him up; he is looking for a group of people to get rid of the Saranda who work there on Mrs. Fox's farm. Since the four killers do not find him, they kill the owner. Then Clegg arrives in town, who stays with the wicked Hazel, with whom Alex is in a relationship. Clegg tries to meet Alex by making an offer to Saranda to join his gang. Instead, he stands by his foster father and kills the gang members one by one. Then the mortal enemies Clegg and Alex face each other. Saranda and the frightened Deborah help finish off Clegg.

criticism

The critics were devastating: the lexicon of the international film thinks it is a "piece of smear disguised as a Western that dilettante processed facts from the American Civil War.", Christian Keßler calls it "quasimodesk and dinky boring", Ulrich Bruckner "forgettable". The Segnalazioni Cinematografiche judged the “presentation as level and at best the staging as careful”.

Remarks

The exterior shots were taken in Fraga .
