Enrique Escobar
Enrique Escobar Sotés (born September 2, 1921 in Jaén ; † February 12, 2004 in Barcelona ) was a Spanish film composer , film editor , pianist and orchestra conductor .
Life
Escobar studied piano and law in Granada, then decided on music. He gained his first experience as a pianist in Madrid and Barcelona, where he also directed various Zarzuela and revue orchestras. Tours through Spanish-speaking countries in America followed. He then switched to the composition of songs and revue music (in 1960 and 1961 alone, four Zarzuelas were created with his participation) and since 1961 has written the music for over sixty films. He often used the pseudonym Henry Soteh or Henry Escobar . In addition to his musical activities, he also worked in other functions for the director and producer Ignacio F. Iquino , with whose films he was very connected. He was responsible for editing a number of his works and was also his personal assistant and secretary.
