Gustavo Re (born July 4, 1908 in Milan , † June 5, 1979 in Barcelona ) was an Italian actor who worked in Spain.

Life

Re played in variety theaters in his native country and came to Spain in the course of the Second World War in 1941, where he was one of the main actors in the Los Vieneses family of actors and musicians, alongside Artur Kaps , comedian Franz Johan and artist Herta Frankel . With this he celebrated two decades of artistic and public successes such as Todo para el córazon , Luces de Viena , Melodias del Danubio or Carrusel vienés , also playing the violin and with his doll “Pedrito Corchea” . In 1949 Re made his film debut with a role in 39 cartas de amor , where he - small in stature, with a round, mostly bearded face - proved himself as a reliable supporting actor of mostly good-natured characters until the end of his life. In addition to melodrama by José Luis Sáenz de Heredia , he was also seen in Mr. Satan himself alongside Orson Welles and in adventurous subjects, including seventeen westerns . In the early days of Spanish television, Re was a member of the troupe around Kaps, the popular entertainment programs consisting of colorful sketches - cuadros - such as Amigos del martes (1961–1964), Noche de estrellas (1964/65) and Noche del sábado (1965– 1967), among the well-known early personalities of the screen.
