Two Missionaries (original title: Porgi l'altra guancia ) is an Italian-French feature film with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill from 1974, which was directed by Franco Rossi .
action
The two missionaries Father Pedro and Father Blauauge have been commissioned by the head of the church to turn the inhabitants of the jungle into believing Christians during their mission . Instead of forcing the natives to believe in God, they respect their pagan beliefs and instead provide them with earthly goods.
By selling goods, e.g. B. from parrots or pepper , they finance the purchase of sweets or sewing machines . When the governor of Maracaibo , Gonzaga, decides to form a trade monopoly with the Dutch, British, Spanish and French trade representatives, they get in the way of the missionaries Blauauge and Pedro, who want more money for their pepper. Already on the way to Maracaibo, Blauauge and Pedro take in a volatile plantation helper and baptize him.
When the governor's henchmen burn the padres' ship in the port of Maracaibo, a hearty fight ensues. After Father Blauauge bought a new boat and the two of them added gambling to their cash register, the governor detained them on his land in the monastery. But from there, too, the two of them flee back to their mission together with the plantation refugee. On the way, Father Blauauge Pedro reveals that he is not a real Father, but that he stole the habit of the cleric there in prison . He is thrown from the ship by Father Pedro, but leaves his new address as a message in a bottle in a champagne bottle. Back in the mission, Father Pedro is received by armed church representatives who want to hide him inconspicuously in order to convert the “savages” to Christianity through “real representatives of the faith”. As a result, Father Pedro resigns his service from the church and goes to see Father Blue-eye with another tribe, which consists of the governor's plantation helpers who have fled. Together with these people, the two ex-missionaries mix up a victory celebration for the conquerors and thus help the natives to get food. Back in the jungle, Father Pedro is elected chief by the former slaves. Because the coconut only falls into the hands of a good person and not on the head.

Reviews
“Tangible arguments between two 'jungle missionaries' and a corrupt governor in Maracaibo. Stupid juxtaposition of beatings, tasteless in the abuse of biblical quotations and religious forms. "
"Heavenly amusing only for buddy fans"
