Romāns Mickevičs (born March 29, 1993 in Riga ) is a Latvian football player .

Career

Mickevičs made his debut for FC Tranzit in Virslīga in April 2010 , when he was in the starting line-up against FK Ventspils on matchday three of the 2010 season and was replaced by Edgars Kārkliņš at half-time . For Tranzit he came to 15 missions in the top Latvian league by the end of the season, from which he was relegated with the club at the end of the season, however, after they had not started relegation. He then moved to the 2011 season for first division club FK Jūrmala . After he came to Jūrmala only two missions, he moved in July 2011 to the second division FK Spartaks Jūrmala . With Spartaks he rose to the Virslīga at the end of the season.

In April 2012 Mickevičs scored his first goal in the top Latvian league in a 3-1 win against FB Gulbene . In his first season with Spartaks in the first division, he came to 29 missions in which he scored three goals. In the 2013 season he played 20 games and scored one goal. In the 2014 season he came to 30 missions in which he scored one goal. With Spartaks he finished the season in sixth, which, after FK Liepāja and FC Daugava Daugavpils had not received a license, qualified for the first time in the club's history for the European Cup. In qualifying for the UEFA Europa League in the following season he failed with the club in the second round at FK Vojvodina ; Mickevičs completed all four Spartaks qualifying games. In the league, he came to 23 appearances in the 2015 season, in which he scored three times.

For the 2016 season he moved to league rivals FK Liepāja . With Liepāja, who had become champions in the previous season, he took part in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League , in which, however, they lost to FC Red Bull Salzburg in the second round . In the league he came that season to 27 appearances for Liepāja, in which he scored two goals. After four more appearances in the 2017 season, he was awarded to league rivals Riga FC in June 2017 . For Riga he came to eight missions by the end of the season. For the 2018 season he was signed by the capital club. During that season he made nine appearances for Riga and was with the club for the first time in club history.

For the 2019 season Mickevičs moved within the Virslīga to FK Ventspils. For Ventspils he came to 23 first division appearances, in which he scored three goals. After the 2019 season, he left the club. In February 2020 he completed an unsuccessful trial training session with the Austrian second division SKU Amstetten . For the 2020 season he moved within Latvia to the first division promoted FK Tukums 2000 / TSS . After seven appearances for Tukums, he returned to Spartaks Jūrmala in July 2020.

National team

Mickevičs played for the Latvian U-18 team in 2011 . In 2013 he was used at least twice for the U-21 team .
