Romain Leleu (born November 7, 1983 in Lille ) is a French trumpeter .

Biography and artistic work

At the age of 15, Leleu entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris . There he was trained by Éric Aubier . In 2003 he received a first prize for trumpet and unanimously a very good for chamber music. He then continued his training with Reinhold Friedrich at the Karlsruhe University of Music .

Romain Leleu's repertoire ranges from baroque music to new music . In France he has appeared as a soloist with the Orchester National de Lille , Orchester National de Lorraine , Orchester d'Auvergne , Orchester de Picardie , Orchester symphonique et lyrique de Nancy and the Ensemble Orchester de Paris . He has been and is regularly invited to festivals such as the Festival de La Roque-d'Anthéron , the Festival de la Vézère , the Festival international de musique de Colmar , the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon and the Flâneries musicales de Reims . A number of contemporary composers have written pieces especially for him. Martin Matalon wrote Création de Trame XII pour trompette et orchester for him , Philippe Hersant wrote Création de Folk Tunes pour trompette solo . Karol Beffa composed for Romain Leleu Concerto pour trompette et orchester , Subway for trumpet and piano and Buenos Aires for wind quintet.

In terms of chamber music, Romain Leleu regularly performs with Thierry Escaich , Olivier Vernet , Ghislain Leroy , Laurent Lefèvre , Igor Tchetuev , the Ensemble Convergences and the Ensemble Kheops . He teaches regularly in master classes in and outside France, for example at the Académie Internationale de Courchevel , the Seoul National University and the Tokyo College of Music .
