Roman Kroitor

Roman Kroitor (born December 12, 1926 in Yorkton , † September 17, 2012 in Québec ) was a Canadian film producer , film director and screenwriter .

Life

Kroitor studied philosophy and psychology at the University of Manitoba and then worked for the National Film Board of Canada , first as a production assistant and then as a film editor. In 1949 he directed his first own film. Kroitor is co-inventor of the IMAX . He worked as a film director, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker and film producer in Canada. In 1980 he and Stefan Wodoslawsky were nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film category for their short film Bravery in the Field .
