Roman Olegowitsch Derljuk began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at HK Spartak Saint Petersburg , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, in the 2004/05 season . He was then selected in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft in the sixth round as a total of 164th player by the Florida Panthers , for which he never played. Instead, he moved to Spartak's city neighbor SKA Saint Petersburg , for whom he was active in the super league in the following year and a half .
During the 2006/07 season Derljuk moved within the Super League to HK MWD Tver . This was relocated to Balaschikha at the end of the season and the left shooter remained in the team that took part in the game operations of the newly founded Continental Hockey League from the 2008/09 season . With his team he failed in the 2009/10 season only in the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup at Ak Bars Kazan . Then the HK MWD was merged with the HK Dynamo Moscow and the Russian received a contract with their successor team OHK Dynamo for the 2010/11 season .
For the 2011/12 season Derljuk moved to the Florida Panthers from the NHL, for whose farm team San Antonio Rampage he played in the American Hockey League . A year later he returned to HK Dynamo Moscow and won the Gagarin Cup , the championship trophy of the KHL in 2013 .
In October 2014 Derljuk moved to HK Sochi for financial compensation , where he played 44 KHL games by the end of the season. He then returned to Dynamo, before he was given in exchange for the KHL transfer rights to Ivan Voronov to Salawat Yulayev Ufa . For Salawat Julajew he completed 45 KHL games in the 2015/16 season, in which he collected three scorer points. He then returned to HK Sochi but was released in November 2016.
In December 2016 he was signed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod until the end of the season and used in 4 games.
