Roman Sladek

Roman Sladek (* 1989 in Roth near Nuremberg) is a German jazz trombonist and band leader .

Live and act

Sladek grew up in Lower Bavaria, where he attended the St. Gotthard High School (Niederalteich) , while as a young student he also had classical trombone lessons at the Munich University of Music and Theater . This was followed by a degree in classical and jazz trombone as well as culture and music management. Since then he has worked in the Munich music scene with his own bands and as an accompanying musician, taught and worked as a music manager and organizer.

In March 2014 he founded the Jazzrausch Bigband with musicians from the Munich Music Academy, with whom he has so far (2019) produced and released seven albums, after The Mirror Suite with Christian Elsässer , Matthias Schriefl and Moritz Stahl, the album Dancing Wittgenstein and the Christmas program Still! Quiet! Quiet! . The large formation led by Sladek gave concerts a. a. in New York's Lincoln Center and at international festivals. In 2017 Sladek and his Jazzrausch Big Band received the BMW Welt Young Artist Jazz Award . Furthermore, Sladek acted as bass trombonist in the Monika Roscher Big Band and worked as a session musician with the band Slut (album Alienation , 2013) and with the composer Anna Korsun ( Selected Recordings , 2013).
