Romedi Arquint

Romedi Arquint (born March 27, 1943 ) is a Swiss theologian , teacher and politician .

After studying theology, he worked as a pastor in Bivio and as a teacher in Zuoz and Samedan , then from 1983 to 1991 as a research assistant at the Federal Office of Culture. He was active in the cantonal and municipal politics of Graubünden as a member of the Social Democratic Party , a parliamentarian in the Grand Council and mayor of S-chanf .

At the European level he campaigns for the minorities in Europe, for many years he was President of FUEN and before that of Lia Rumantscha .

The initiative to restrict the construction of second homes in the Upper Engadin goes back to Arquint, which was approved in 2005 with 55% of the votes.

He is married and has three children.
