Romolo Guerrieri

Romolo Guerrieri (actually Romolo Girolami ; born December 5, 1931 in Rome ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter . He is the uncle of Enzo G. Castellari and Enio Girolami and the brother of Marino Girolami .

Life

Guerrieri, who named himself after his mother's maiden name, initially worked on his brother Marino's films and, after doing several jobs as an assistant director, rose to become director of the second staff at Carlo Campogalliani's Alboin, King of the Lombards in 1961 . In the same year he shot the comedy Bellezze sulla spiaggia as a director under his birth name . From 1966 he regularly directed several films of various genres . Among the films, mostly with moderate budgets, the film adaptation of the killed Carabiniere Salvo d'Acquisto and the Giallo The beautiful body of Deborah stands out. From the late 1970s, Guerrieri turned increasingly to television work. For his spaghetti western from 1966 he used the pseudonym Rod Gilbert .
