action

Lester Horton, a former CIA agent, finds his way through life as a casual writer. When his friend John Benson is murdered in Athens, he flies to Greece to track down the dead man's memoir, which is said to contain some revelations about his former boss Maxwell's drug involvement. But the current CIA chief is also interested in keeping his name clean and that of Benson tainted as much as possible; so he sends some men who report to the Athenian chief Maxwell after Horton. Horton notices that he is being persecuted and flees to Rhodes, where his ex-lover Anna lives with his friend Joe Florio. With the help of the local police, they learn of the agents' arrival; but Florio is killed and Lester sent to an asylum. Only if the police intervene again can he prevent him from being killed.

After a few peaceful days with Anna, the assassin Chivas arrives on the island, who murders Anna before Horton can kill him at the Acropolis of Rhodes.

criticism

“At first, the film does not have a real exposition, but then it becomes so interleaved and confusing that the events ripple past the viewer in an undynamic manner,” notes Karsten Thurau. Similar, but shorter, is the lexicon of international films : "Confused agent crime against the picturesque backdrop of Greece."

Remarks

The female lead was originally supposed to play Catherine Bach ; the scenes with firefights had to be filmed in Greece after an Italian law came into force.
