from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ivan Rassimov (actually: Ivan Djarassimovic , also appeared as Sean Todd ; * May 7, 1938 in Trieste , † March 13, 2003 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Rassimov was born to Italian-Serbian parents (a small Serbian minority lived in Trieste at the time) and, after completing his training at the University of Trieste and his military service, moved to Rome with his sister Rada in order to achieve success in the film business .

After several smaller roles, including in Mario Bava's Planet of the Vampires (1965), he was increasingly cast as a shady character, which was due to his piercing eyes and rough facial features. He was seen in numerous films as a Nazi officer or a murder suspect. Occasionally, however, he was cast as a positive hero, so in three spaghetti westerns in 1967 and 1968, in which he used the pseudonym Sean Todd . He was also convincing as Sandokan in a film adaptation from 1970. He was also the protagonist in hundreds of photoromanzi .

In the mid-1970s, Rassimov appeared in some speculative films , such as B. Mondo Cannibale , or the bloodthirsty Alive eaten (1980). In 1987 Rassimov withdrew from the film business and worked as an editor for a comic and book publisher.

He died after a short illness in Rome at the age of 65.
