action

Jeremiah Bridger, also known as yellow-haired, grows up with an irrepressible hatred of Indians; they massacred his family when he was a child. Now as a young adult he wages a private war against the redskins. One day, however, he finds out - he has already fallen in love with his Native American hostage Tune - that the truth is different: White people disguised as Indians committed the crimes, led by a villain named Perkins and supported by the editor of the local newspaper. Their motive was to get cheap land, which is why they terrorized the farmers in the area. At the Perkins estate, who is still using violent means to achieve his goals, Jeremiah is able to sabotage his plans and crush the gang of gangsters. He is supported by actual Indians.

criticism

For the lexicon of international film , this is a “brutal spaghetti western, equally uneventful in form and content”. Christian Keßler judges more differently , who certifies that the film doesn’t make a lot of visual impact, but tells a brilliant story that “makes it particularly difficult for the viewer to identify the hero”, and he recognizes a “very dark tone”. The Italian critics believe that the carefully staged film tells nothing new in terms of person constellations and history.

Remarks

The film song Ballata dei capelli gialli is sung by Monica Miguel .

The German-language DVD edition is rated very negatively. a. because of an incorrect image format.
