Ronald "Ron" Berteling (born September 6, 1957 in Amsterdam , Noord-Holland ) is a former Dutch ice hockey player and coach .
Berteling took part in 213 international ice hockey games between 1976 and 1999. With the Dutch national team , he won the C- World Championship in 1978 and the B-World Championship in 1979 , which qualified them for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . This was the first time the Dutch had participated in the Olympics in ice hockey. The team reached the 9th place (out of 12 participants) at the Olympic tournament . Berteling made his last game for the national team in 1999 when he was nominated again for the C World Championship at the age of 41.
Berteling played for Amstel Tijgers and Rotterdam Panda's during his playing career . With both teams he won the national championships once. After the end of his career he worked as a trainer for Amstel Tijgers and their successor club, Amsterdam G’s . He repeatedly played isolated games for the clubs he supervised.
The Ron Bertelingschaal , the Dutch Supercup , which has been played since 2007 , was named after Berteling.
