Ron Jessie (born February 4, 1948 in Yuma , Arizona , † January 13, 2006 in Huntington Beach , California ) was an American American football player.

Jessie, who already played at the University of Kansas Football, began his professional career in 1971 with the Dallas Cowboys , but switched to the Detroit Lions that same summer , where he played four seasons. In 1975 Jessie moved to the Los Angeles Rams . His best year was 1976, when he was called up after 34 passes for 779 yards and six touchdowns for the Rams in the Pro Bowl , the all-star game of the National Football League (NFL).

In 1979 he reached the Super Bowl with his team , but an injury prevented his use in the 19:31 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers . Jessie played for the Buffalo Bills for two more years , in 1981 he ended his career after 265 receptions for 4,276 yards and 30 touchdowns. He played a total of eleven seasons in the NFL.

Jessie died of a heart attack , leaving behind wife Sharon, daughter Felicia, and two sons, Brendan and Ron Jr.
