Ronald Zubar (born September 20, 1985 in Les Abymes , Guadeloupe ) is a French football player .

Career

society

Zubar, who played in the storm as a youth , began his professional career in 2002 as a 17-year-old with SM Caen in Ligue 2 . In his first season he only made seven appearances, but was able to play in the starting eleven the following year. In the 2003/04 season he rose with Caen in the top French division, Ligue 1 . But just a year later, the club was relegated again. However, the team reached the final of the Coupe de la Ligue . This final was lost to Racing Strasbourg with 1: 2 . Zubar stayed on for another season before moving to Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2006 . Previously, he was elected to the team of the best players of the 2005/06 season in Ligue 2. He quickly gained a foothold at his new employer and played 34 league games for the southern French in his first year. With Zubar in central defense, the club was able to reach the final of the French Cup and finish the season as runner-up. For the 2009/10 season he moved to England for Wolverhampton Wanderers . In January 2013 he returned to his French homeland for AC Ajaccio , with whom he was able to celebrate relegation in Ligue 1 at the end of the season.

National and national teams

Zubar was a national player for various youth national teams in France . With the U-17 he reached the final of the European Championship in 2002 , where they had to bow to the Swiss team with 2: 4 on penalties.

Since 2011, Zubar has been playing for the Guadeloupe football team , which is a member of CONCACAF but not FIFA .

Private

Ronald Zubar's brother Stéphane is also a professional footballer.
