Ronald Ferdinand "Ron" Zwerver (born July 6, 1967 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch volleyball player . He was one of the dominant figures in international volleyball in the 1990s.

In his youth, Ron Zwerver played volleyball, football and baseball . In 1983 he joined the top club Martinus Amstelveen . Here he was four times Dutch champion under coach Arie Selinger and took third place in the European Cup three times . In 1992, the external attacker and defense specialist moved to the Italian league for the top club Sisley Treviso , where he played for six years and was Italian champion three times. Zwerver also won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1994 , the Champions League in 1995 and the CEV Cup in 1998 . After a season in Belgium with Knack Randstad Roeselare , he ended his active career in 1999.

Ron Zwerver played 463 times for the Dutch national team between 1986 and 1996 . He took part in three Olympic Games and won the silver medal in Barcelona in 1992 and the gold medal in Atlanta in 1996 . Another highlight was winning the World League in 1996 . He has been honored several times as "Best Attacker", "Best Points Collector" or "Most Valuable Player".

After his active career, Ron Zwerver became a volleyball coach. First he was assistant coach of the Dutch national team under Peter Blangé , then from 2007 to 2009 head coach of Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande and since 2009 coach of HvA Volleybal in Amsterdam.
