Ronnie Baxter (born February 5, 1961 in Blackpool , North West England ) is an English dart player nicknamed "The Rocket", who is known for his robotic throwing style, among other things.

Career

Since the mid-1990s, Baxter has been considered one of the most outstanding players on the world stage; in 1999 and 2000 he reached the finals of the Embassy World Professional Darts Championship twice in a row .

In 2002 he moved from the British Darts Organization (BDO) to the competing Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and now appears in tournaments that are primarily broadcast by the Sky Sports television channel .

Baxter won the final of the Sunday event against Antonio Alcinas 6: 4 in the first Players Championship weekend 2011 . He won his second Player Championship tournament in 2011 at the Canadian Masters Players Championship on August 28, 2011 6-2 against Kevin Painter .

Private

Ronnie Baxter ran a guesthouse in Cirencester with his wife, Rachael . He previously resided in Church , Lancashire. However, he has since separated from the pension and his wife and lives again in his hometown of Blackpool.
