Ronny Bruckner

Ronny Bruckner (actually Jaron Bruckner ; born March 31, 1957 in Brussels ; † August 4, 2013 ) was a Belgian entrepreneur.

Career

Ronny Bruckner started his professional life at the age of 20 as director of the company Zidav, which had specialized in trade with Romania, Poland and ex-Yugoslavia.

In 1981 he formed a group of companies now known as Eastbridge and became chairman of the board. Eastbridge is a Luxembourg-based private company with more than 40 subsidiaries in Europe and the USA and more than 10,000 employees. The company specializes on the one hand in the real estate market (the group has a 25% stake in Immobel SA, a property developer listed on Euronext since September 2010 ) and on the other in leisure, media, fashion and private schools.

In 1994, Ronny Bruckner and Eastbridge took over the company Empik, a Polish chain of stores in the multimedia market that can be compared to the FNAC in France and in May 2009 had 134 stores in Poland and 23 stores in the Ukraine .

In March 2011, Ronny Bruckner was elected to the Ageas Supervisory Board as a non-executive member for a period of 3 years until the 2014 annual general meeting of shareholders. Ronny Bruckner's candidacy came at the suggestion of Cresida Investments, a shareholder with a capital stake of at least 1%.

From 1996 to 2000, after founding the non-profit organization Poland for Europe, Ronny Bruckner was chairman of this association to promote Poland's accession to the EU through the development and better understanding of Polish culture and art in Europe.
