Ronny Dau

Ronny Dau (born May 27, 1963 ) is a former German soccer player who played in the GDR league in the 1980s for BSG Stahl Brandenburg and BSG Wismut Aue .

Athletic career

BSG Chemie PCK Schwedt , playing in the second-class GDR league , nominated 18-year-old Ronny Dau for the first time for their first men's team for the 1981/82 season. Until 1983/84 Dau played as a striker with Schwedt in the GDR league, after which the chemists were relegated to the district league .

In May 1985, the GDR upper division club BSG Stahl Brandenburg reported the 1.84 m tall dhow as a new addition. On the 2nd match day of the 1985/86 season he got his first chance in a league game when he came on in the match 1. FC Union Berlin - BSG Stahl (1-0) in the 72nd minute for the right full-back Eckart Märzke . After that, Dau was only used once on the 4th matchday in the 64th minute for striker Holger Döbbel . At the end of the season, Stahl Brandenburg removed him from his squad again. From 1986/87 to 1988/89 Ronny Dau played for the GDR league club BSG Motor Ludwigsfelde . He was a regular player from the start, played 62 point games from 1986 to 1989 and was Ludwigsfeld's best shooter with 26 goals during this time.

In the first half of the 1989/90 season, Dau appeared between October and December for three league point games at BSG Wismut Aue. In the three games he was only called up as a substitute. At the beginning of 1990 Dau moved to the GDR league club BSG Stahl Hennigsdorf , where he still played in the second-rate NOFV league (formerly GDR league) until the summer of 1991 after converting to FC Stahl. After the reorganization of the DFB league system , the Hennigsdorfer were represented in the third-class Oberliga Nordost from 1991/92 , from which they withdrew at the end of the season for economic reasons.

Only returned to the 1995/96 season Dau back into the national football, as he said in the third-tier Regionalliga gambling 1. FC Lok Stendal joined. He stayed there until the end of the 1997/98 season and during this time he had a late career highlight with his participation in the quarter-final of the DFB Cup in 1995 against Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen , which the Stendal team only lost 4-5 at home after a penalty shoot-out.
