Rosamund John

Rosamund John (born October 19, 1913 in London as Nora Rosamund Jones , † October 27, 1998 ibid) was a British film and theater actress .

life and career

Rosamund John was born Nora Rosamund Jones in 1913 in Tottenham, London . She was educated at Tottenham Drapers' College and then attended the Embassy School of Acting .

She made her film debut in 1934 in the adventure film The Secret of the Loch directed by Milton Rosmer. Since 1942 she has been a busy actress in many British films such as Maurice Elvey’s romantic drama The Holy Fire (1943) alongside Stewart Granger , in the crime comedy by Sidney Gilliat Warning: Green (1946), in Lawrence Huntington’s crime film Abysses (1947) at the Side of James Mason , in Daniel Birt's crime comedy She's supposed to have killed her (1950) or in the drama On the Street Corner by director Muriel Box (1953).

Rosamund Johns was married twice. From 1943 to 1949 with the editor Russell Lloyd and from 1950 to 1987 with the politician John Silkin . From this marriage comes a son.

She died of natural causes in London in October 1998 at the age of 85.
