from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rose Friedman , b. Director (born December 1910 or 1911 in Czartorysk , Volhynia , Russian Empire , † August 18, 2009 in Davis , California ) was an American economist . She was married to Milton Friedman (1912-2006) since 1938 and had two children with him, a daughter and the current legal scholar David D. Friedman .

When she was two years old, her family emigrated to the United States, largely because they suffered from anti-Semitism in Russia . Like her husband, she was an economist and wrote books with him. Like Milton, she was an advocate of the free market economy and advocated the education voucher model . In contrast to her husband, she voted for the 2003 Iraq war . She was also otherwise considered a supporter of the Republican Party and a bitter opponent of the Democrats .
