Rosemarie Pohl-Weber , beb. Weber (born December 1, 1926 in Münster ; † July 7, 1990 in Bremen ) was a German librarian, journalist , folklorist and museum director in Bremen.

biography

Pohl-Weber was the daughter of an administrative officer. In 1966 she married Heinz Werner Pohl; both had a son.

She attended the Annette von Droste-Hülshoff-Schule (secondary school for girls) from 1937 to 1944 . From 1945 to 1947 she worked as an interpreter and secretary for the British military government and passed the interpreting exam. In Aschaffenburg she completed an apprenticeship as a book trade, which she completed in 1950 with the assistant examination in Cologne. She was employed in bookstores in Münster and Recklinghausen until 1955 and then as head of the library of the Westphalian Heimatbund in Münster. She also worked as a journalist. At the Stadtgymnasium Dortmund she caught up with her school leaving examination, which she could no longer acquire at the end of 1944 due to the war.
She studied, partly in addition to the service, German folk and classical studies and philology and literature at the University of Münster and received his doctorate there in 1963 to Dr. phil.

From 1964 she was employed at the Focke-Museum , the Bremen State Museum for Art and Cultural History , from 1965 as a department head, 1968 custodian, 1970 senior custodian, 1973 government director and 1975 senior government director. The remainder of the Bremer cog found in 1962 was one of her first tasks. In 1973/74 she played a key role in the implementation and establishment of the Tarmstedter Scheune from 1803 on the museum grounds. In 1973 she became deputy director and in 1975 director of the Focke Museum, which she ran until her death at the age of 64. She was a very decisive head of the house. Numerous publications come from her.
