The Danish airport Roskilde ( IATA code RKE , ICAO code EKRK , Danish officially Københavns Lufthavn Roskilde ) is around 43 kilometers west of Copenhagen and about six kilometers southeast of the city of Roskilde near the city of Tune .

The airport serves general aviation and is part of Copenhagen Airports A / S , which operates Roskilde as well as Copenhagen's main airport ( Kastrup ).

history

It was opened in 1973 as the first of three planned airports around Copenhagen. However, the other two were never built.

Copenhagen Air Taxi operates taxi flights to the two Kattegat islands of Anholt and Læsø . Starling Air operates taxi flights to Ærø via Svendborg and Ringsted .
