Rosterberg

The Rosterberg is a 325.7  m high mountain in the urban area of Siegens in North Rhine-Westphalia . The mountain is southwest of the Häusling .

The Rosterberg is largely built up. The mountain, or the area around Siegen, gained fame through the Siegener Loch in 2004, when the passages of the old Hohe Grethe and Philippshoffnung pits collapsed and caused large breaks in the day. Since then, there have been regular breaks on the mountain. In addition to the two mines mentioned, there were various smaller operations, such as the Rosenbusch mine , which was shut down around 1900. On October 25, 2008, a daybreak occurred there. The Feldberger Erbstollen was closed in 1902. In November 2008, day breaks occurred in a 30 m deep weather shaft in the tunnel.

On the mountain there is also the Peter-Paul-Rubens-Gymnasium , a school for the handicapped, the Fritz-Fries-Seniorenzentrum and the Jung-Stilling-Hospital . The rest of the built-up area consists largely of apartments, most of which originate from the German Federal Railroad's housing project .

The Radschläfe is part of the Rosterberg.
