List of apple varieties |
The Red Pariner (also called “Pariner”, “ Pariner Apfel ”, “Pariner Weihnachtsapfel” or “Münsterländer Borsdorfer”) is a cultivar of the cultivated apple .
It is an old apple variety that was created around 1900 in the Welchert tree nursery in Groß Parin in Schleswig-Holstein (founded in 1888) and named after its origin. It occurs as a local variety only in the Lübeck area.
tree
The sturdy tree has a high crown, has a good yield (mass carrier ), does not tend to alternate and is suitable for extensive orchards .
blossom
The flowering of the Red Pariner is white and occurs medium-late (at the same time as Cox Orange and Elstar ).
fruit
As a winter apple, it is ripe for harvest in October, it is very hard and hardly sensitive to pressure, hardly wilts in storage and is ripe for consumption until March (if stored well, well beyond).
The spherical to spherical flattened fruits are medium-sized and reach a maximum diameter of less than 10 cm.
The smooth, slightly waxy skin has a yellow base color - and occasionally green in areas not exposed to light - and a continuous red overlay with light lenticels .
The shallow calyx pit merges below the open sepals into a funnel-shaped calyx cavity of shallow depth. The core is closed and the stem is short.
The flesh is white, very firm, slightly spicy and sour.
use
The apple is mainly suitable for processing as a baked apple and cake apple as well as for juicing - it only reaches its maturity after storage from the end of December or later - whereby removing the peel is very beneficial for the taste.
In addition, the smaller fruits in particular can be used as Christmas apples for decoration.
