Rotger von Raesfeld

Rotger von Raesfeld (* in the 16th century; † 1575 ) was a canon in Münster .

Life

Rotger von Raesfeld came from the Westphalian noble family von Raesfeld , from which numerous well-known personalities emerged. Its members belonged to the Catholic faith . He was the son of Wilbrand von Raesfeld zu Empte and his wife Margarethe von Wischel. His uncle Gottfried von Raesfeld was cathedral dean . His brothers Heinrich and Johann were canons in Münster. The cathedral chapter sat Rotger in 1564 in the possession of the Dompräbende of Johann Schencking without taking into account the claims. He was also a canon in St. Ludgeri . When he again received the promise of Schencking's benefice from the cathedral chapter on September 12, 1573, he vowed the next day to reimburse the costs of the proceedings if it came into the possession of the prebender of the late canon Bernhard von Münster . His father vouched for him, so that the day after he came into the possession of the prebende. Rotger died of the rampant plague in 1575 .
