Rothley is a civil parish in the county of Leicestershire in England with about 3,600 inhabitants.
location
The place is eight kilometers north of Leicester . The Rothley Brook flows adjacent to the south and flows into the Soar about one kilometer east . The A6 runs about one kilometer to the east.
history
The place has developed since the early Middle Ages as a marketplace for the wooded area. In the cemetery there is a cross of the Saxons from the 9th century. On the grounds of Rothley Court is the 13th century Chapel of the Knights Templar .
