The Royal Troon Golf Club is one of the UK's premium golf clubs located just south of the town of Troon in Scotland . He is a representative of the typical of the "original" -Golf Links courts and is since 1923 part of the " Rota rota of places that the open-called" British golf championships be hosting (British Open).
The club has two 18-hole courses, the "Old Course", which is located directly on the coastline and used as a championship course, and the "Portland Course", which is separated from the beach by the Old Course. It also has a 9-hole short course (Craigend Course) with par 3 holes.
South of the Old Course is the Prestwick Golf Club , the first venue for the British Open from 1860 to 1872.
