Rubem Antônio Corrêa Barbosa (born January 14, 1952 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Rubem Antônio Corrêa Barbosa is the son of Hylma Malcher Corrêa Barbosa and Rubem Duarte Corrêa Barbosa. In 1974 he completed the CPCD of the Rio Branco Institute and graduated in law from the Universidade Candido Mendes in Rio de Janeiro. In 1995 he produced the study O Diferendo sobre a Fronteira Marítima entre a Colômbia ea Venezuela as part of the Alto Estudios . From 1875 to 1976 he was employed in the protocol department. In 1976 he was employed in the Europe department. From 1977 to 1980 he was the third class legation secretary in Ottawa.

From 1980 to 1984 Corrêa Barbosa was promoted from Second Class Secretary to First Class Secretary at the Legation in Lagos. From 1986 to 1989 he was first-class delegation secretary in Lisbon and from 1993 to 1996 delegation councilor in Bogotá . From 1996 to 1999 he was Associate Consul General in Los Angeles and from 1999 to 2003 curriculum officer of the Rio Branco Institute. In 2003 Corrêa Barbosa headed the International Department in the Ministry of Justice. From 2003 to 2005 he headed the Equatorial America II department at Itamaraty. From 2005 to 2010 he was a special assessor in the Ministry of Energy.

On July 15, 2010, he was appointed ambassador to Canberra . At the same time he was appointed ambassador to the governments in Port Vila and Port Moresby .

On January 12, 2012, he was appointed ambassador to Suva , Yaren and Honiara districts , based in Canberra .
