Ruben Profugo
Ruben T. Profugo (born April 10, 1938 in Lucena City ; † May 12, 2014 ) was Bishop of Lucena .
Life
Ruben T. Profugo studied philosophy and theology and was ordained a priest on December 18, 1965 . He was pastor in Cotta near Lucena and director of social action in the diocese of Lucena.
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Lucena and titular bishop of Budua on August 27, 1979 . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines , Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on October 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José Tomás Sánchez , Bishop of Lucena, and Godofredo Pedernal Pisig , Bishop of Borongan .
On May 15, 1982 he was appointed Bishop of Lucena. On September 13, 2003, John Paul II accepted his early resignation for health reasons.
