Rudi Gamper

Rudolf "Rudi" Gamper (* 1942 in St. Roman , Upper Austria ) is a South Tyrolean journalist.

Gamper was born in Austria in 1942 to Optanten . In 1950 he returned to South Tyrol with his family, where he grew up until 1957 in temporarily provided barracks in Leifers . After graduating from business school, he worked briefly as an accountant for Athesia .

From 1962 Gamper worked for the Rai broadcaster in Bozen , initially as a freelancer, later as a permanent program designer and speaker. He made a name for himself in particular as a presenter of programs on alpine folk music . From 1998 to 2006 he was the coordinator of the station. In 2009 he took over the presidency of the Broadcasting Corporation South Tyrol , which he held until 2017.

Awarded the Great Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria

In recognition of his commitment to popular culture, Gamper received the Great Decoration of Honor in 2015 for Services to the Republic of Austria .
