Rudolf Alt (born July 9, 1926 ) is a former German football player. He played for the BSG Einheit Ost Leipzig and the SC Rotation Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

In Riesa Rudolf Alt began to play football. After the end of the Second World War , he continued his career in Leipzig , where he played with the company sports association (BSG) Stahl West Leipzig in the fourth-class district class North West Saxony until 1952 . For the 1952/53 season he moved to BSG Einheit Ost Leipzig in the second-rate GDR league . There he immediately became a regular player as a striker, because he was used in 22 matches in the 24 league games, was successful with 14 goals and was thus also instrumental in the rise of the BSG to the top division. While he was able to defend his regular position in 1953/54 with 23 appearances in 28 point games and four goals scored, he scored five goals in 1954/55, but only played seven league games in the second half of the season. At this point in time, the soccer section of the BSG Einheit Ost had already been incorporated into the newly founded Rotation Leipzig sports club.

Also in the upper league transition round, which was played in the fall of 1955 with 13 games to transition from the summer-spring rhythm to the calendar season, he was only set up in six games and was only used once as a goal scorer. In the following three seasons from 1956 to 1958, Alt played his way back into the regular formation. Of the 78 league games played, he missed only seven games and was Leipzig's top scorer with eleven and seven goals in both 1956 and 1958. In the 1959 season he had to pause in nine league games and came so only on 17 missions and only scored two goals. For the 1960 season, the now 33-year-old old was accepted into the SC Rotation's top division squad, but was only sent out onto the field for 18 minutes on the first match day.

At the end of the season, Rudolf Alt resigned from competitive football. Within eight seasons he had played 125 times in the league and scored 35 goals, plus 22 GDR league games with 14 goals.
