Rudolf Anheuser

Rudolf Anheuser (* 9. November 1924 , † 27. October 2009 in Bad Kreuznach ) was a German Basketball - referee . Anheuser was active as a referee at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich and thus, after Teddy Schober, only the second referee from the ranks of the DBB who was allowed to whistle at an Olympic tournament.

Life

Anheuser came into contact with basketball through Hermann Niebuhr , who is considered a pioneer of basketball in Germany, and played in the top German leagues at VfL Bad Kreuznach in the post-war years. In 1964 he received the international referee license together with Manfred Ströher and led international matches until 1979. From 1981 he still worked as a technical inspector on an international level. Together with Ströher, he wrote interpretations of the basketball rules of the world association FIBA , which were recognized on an international level for the training and further education of referees. After the end of his career as a referee, he was appointed honorary referee for life by FIBA, and he also received the DBB's Golden Badge of Honor.
