Rudolf Christfreund (* in the 20th century ) was a German architect .

Life

The head of the building department was one of the initiators of the city boards that were installed from 1967.

In the post-war period, Rudolf Christfreund was in charge of the Hanover City Building Department . Based on his designs, school buildings were built in the capital of Lower Saxony, as well as the thermal power station built between 1960 and 1963 in the Linden district on the banks of the Ihme in Spinnereistraße 7-9 . In addition, the New Chapel was built in 1967 based on his design at the Ricklingen city cemetery . The Tellkampf School , built in 1956 based on designs by Werner Dierschke and Rudolf Christfreund, is a listed building "as an outstanding example of building in the fifties in Hanover". In 1960 he was appointed to the German Werkbund .

Christfreund also made an outstanding contribution to the “rescue of the Herrenhausen Gardens ” as well as to the street art program of Hanover , of which he was a member of the municipal art commission.

On March 31, 1979, Christfreund retired.
