Rudolf Czerny (born June 5, 1879 in Haida in Bohemia ; † 1962 or later in Munich ) was a German painter, graphic artist and restorer.

Life

Rudolf Czerny completed his school days and an apprenticeship as a painter in Haida and then attended the technical school for the glass industry. He completed his training in Munich under Julius Diez at the Kunstgewerbeschule and Franz von Stuck at the academy. Czerny lived and worked in Munich. Among other things, he supplied Parisian fashion houses with designs. He was a member of the Süddeutscher Illustratorenbund and probably also worked as a restorer. He also created designs in the style of the Vienna Secession for the Regenhütte and Schliersee glassworks .

In 1910 Rudolf Czerny won the first prize worth 2000 marks in the Stollwerck competition for "Humor in Images and Words". The Pilze album (Stollwerck album 12, group 482) was printed by W. Büxenstein in Berlin and contained the motifs "Morchelmütterchen", "Der Steinpilz", "Der Butterpilz", "Fly Agaric", "Bluish Dickfuß" and "Wolfsschwämme" .

While the Munich residents' registration office registered him as deceased in 1962, H. Ries believed he had found evidence of his activities until 1972.
