Rudolf Fichtner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rudolf Fichtner (born November 10, 1899 , † April 19, 1970 ) was a German production and recording manager .

Fichtner already knew Leni Riefenstahl through her acting participation in the 1932 film SOS Eisberg by director Arnold Fanck , for which he himself had taken over the production line. In 1936, Fichtner was asked by Riefenstahls Olympia-Film GmbH whether he wanted to take on the recording management of a major project alongside Konstantin Boenisch and Arthur Kiekebusch , because the film Olympia about the 1936 Summer Olympics posed very special documentary, artistic and technical challenges. Due to the complexity of the project, it turned out that these three unit managers each needed ten assistants. Riefenstahl put Fichtner in charge of the film recordings that were shot outside of Berlin. B. the sports studies on the Curonian Spit .

Fichtner was also involved as production manager in 1939 in the anti-Semitic film Robert und Bertram directed by Hans Hellmut Zerlett , in the film Tiefland by Leni Riefenstahl from 1940 to 1944 and in the propaganda film Kolberg directed by Veit Harlan from 1943 to 1944 .

In the post-war period, part of the development of the German film industry can be seen in his obligations. However, after the two parts of the Olympic film, he was also involved in other film highlights, such as Bernhard Wicki's anti-war film Die Brücke .
