Rudolf Kiwitter

Rudolf Kiwitter (born March 27, 1918 in Kray ) is a Saarland politician ( CVP / CDU ).

Kiwitter attended the Reform-Real-Gymnasium in Sulzbach , Saarland , where he passed his matriculation examination in 1937. He then did labor and military service and was then called up for military service. He was deployed on the western, eastern and northern fronts and most recently served as a lieutenant and company commander. After the war he worked as a miner in 1945 and then completed training as a primary school teacher at the Saarbrücken State Teachers' College. He passed the first teacher examination in September 1946, the second in 1950/51. Kiwitter taught first in Lockweiler and from 1952 in Dagstuhl . In 1953 he was appointed director of the elementary school.

Kiwitter joined the Christian People's Party of the Saarland (CVP) in 1946 and was its district party chairman in the Hochwald district from 1953. In 1955 he joined the newly founded CDU and was district party chairman in Wadern from 1955 to 1959 . In August 1956 he was able to replace the late Anton Merziger in the Saarland state parliament . There he was a member of the committees for cultural policy as well as for food, agriculture and hunting. In 1961 he left parliament.
