Rudolf Krammer

Rudolf Krammer (born March 7, 1929 in Salzburg ; † January 3, 2004 ibid) was an Austrian football player in the position of goalkeeper and Olympic participant .

Krammer grew up in an orphanage in the Müllner Hauptstrasse in Salzburg and later worked in the state capital's municipal power station. From 1950 to 1963 he played as a pure amateur with SV Austria Salzburg in the Tauern League and the State League . In the top division, he played a total of 129 national league games and became a Salzburg goalie legend with unforgettable parades.

In 1952 he was called up by coach Viktor Hierländer in the squad of the Austrian amateur national team for the Olympic Games in Helsinki . The Austrians were eliminated in the quarter-finals after just two games (4-3 against Finland and 1-3 against Sweden ). Although Salzburg had to give way to his Lower Austrian rival Fritz Nikolai in both games , taking part in the Olympics represented a high point in his career.

In addition to winning the Tauern League three times, Rudolf Krammer experienced another highlight with Salzburger Austria with the victory in the Salzburg State Cup final of 1959 against 1. Halleiner SK .

Rudolf Krammer was 74 years old. After his death he found his final resting place in the Salzburg municipal cemetery .
