Reinhard R. Heinisch

Reinhard Rudolf Heinisch (born August 3, 1942 in Munich ) is a German - Austrian historian and retired university professor who researches and publishes primarily on the history of the city and state of Salzburg .

Life

Reinhard Rudolf Heinisch graduated from Salzburg in 1960. In 1968 he wrote his dissertation at the University of Vienna entitled Salzburg during the Thirty Years' War . 1977 followed the habilitation for Austrian history and Salzburg state history. In 1980 he was appointed Professor of Austrian History and Salzburg State History at the University of Salzburg .

From 1996 to October 2015 he acted as President of the Society for Salzburg Regional Studies , which deals with the history of the state and the city of Salzburg and has published the annual reports of the Society for Salzburg Regional Studies since 1861 . In 2006 he was honored with the citizens' letter of the city of Salzburg.
