Rudolf Krohn (local history researcher)

Rudolf Krohn (* 1850 ; † 1938 ) was a German teacher and local researcher .

Krohn was a primary school teacher in Itzehoe by profession . After he had to give up his teaching post in 1882 due to illness, he retired, but was able to improve his pension as a police officer for the city of Itzehoe. Later he became head of the Itzehoer registry office and city secretary. He published several newspaper articles, essays and a book on Itzehoe's history. To honor his activities in the history of the city in particular, Krohnstrasse (between Lornsenplatz and Brunnenstrasse) in Itzehoe was named after him in 1930.
