Rudolf Kubitschek

Rudolf Kubitschek (born December 29, 1895 in Böhmisch-Röhren near Wallern in the Bohemian Forest , † May 29, 1945 in Prachatitz ) was a folklorist and writer .

Life

Rudolf Kubitschek was born as the son of a tax officer in Bohemian-Röhren in the Bohemian Forest. He attended the German high schools in Saaz and Prachatitz and studied German, history and geography at the German University in Prague . In 1920 he did his doctorate with Primus Lessiak with a dialect geography of the Bohemian Forest . In the following 25 years Kubitschek worked as a high school professor in Dux, Prague, Plan near Marienbad, Eger and Pilsen.

Together with the local historian Josef Blau and the poet Hans Watzlik founded and edited Kubitschek from 1919 published by Moldavia in Budweis appearing Böhmerwäldler village books , as their first band he the Hirschauerstücklein issued. In 1920, Kubitschek and his teachers Karl Hofer, Karl Gaier, August Michl and others founded the local history working group “Goldener Steig” in the Prachatitz district marked.

Rudolf Kubitschek knew how to present the results of his archive and field research on settlement history, linguistic folklore and dialect geography in a generally understandable manner.
