Américo Ximenes

Américo Ximenes (born June 11, 1953 in Uato-Lari , Portuguese Timor ), fighting name Sabika Bessi Kulit (also Sabica ), is an East Timorese officer.

Career

Ximenes became a member when the Forças Armadas de Libertação Nacional de Timor-Leste (FALINTIL) was founded on August 20, 1975 and fought first in the civil war in East Timor in 1975 and then against the Indonesian invaders (1975-1999). Most recently, Ximenes was Commander and Secretary of Region II. Under the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (1999-2002), the FALINTIL was transferred to the Defense Forces of East Timor (F-FDTL). Ximenes was made lieutenant colonel on June 21, 2001 and first in command of the Nicolau Lobato training center in Metinaro . Later he was head of the Divisão de Operações (J3) and head of the training division at headquarters. Eventually he became head of the cabinet of the CEMG of the F-FDTL and military attaché at the East Timorese embassy in Portugal .

On February 2, 2011, he was promoted to colonel and June 7, 2018 to brigadier general.
